πThanks guys for getting into the spooky Fall season together.
We read “Dark Archives: A Librarian’s Investigation Into the Science and History of Books Bound in Human Skin” by Megan Rosenbloom.
π§At our meetup we talked about:
-the ethics of binding books in human skin and what we do with them now hundreds of years later
-how consent plays a role in medicine
-our views of dead bodies in relation to burial and religious beliefs.
We all agreed that this was a somewhat gruesome topic/book and it was worthwhile reading. π
If youβd like to see how we chose this book and how you can join in on our conversations by visiting our website online: https://menwhoread.club/book-from-your-to-be-read-list/
